LOC is a small application which is used to count lines of code in any text file. Actually, the contents of the text file doesn't have to be programming code, it could be anything. Blank lines and characters are counted as well. As an option, you can configure LOC to count programming comment lines as well, and you can specify what comment characters to use (like "/*" and "*/" for C comments). Comment lines are only counted when they contain no other code (comments at the end of statements are not counted).
This application is system-7 compatible, and the really useful way to use LOC is to drag-and-drop several files at once onto the LOC icon, and the line totals for each file (as well as the grand total) will be listed. When dragging a group of files, non-TEXT files are ignored.
You may copy the contents of the results list box and paste them somewhere else if you want to print the results. If no lines are selected when you select "Paste", the entire list will be copied. If you select just a few lines in the list, just those will be selected.
